Riverdale Renovation
Bringing the calm of the garden indoors through light, wood, and biophilic design:
A thoughtful renovation brings new life to this Riverdale home, balancing calm modernity with respect for its character. Enlarged rear windows and a soft, biophilic palette open the ground floor to the garden, creating a light-filled setting for daily life. The kitchen, dining, and living areas flow together as one open sequence, organized by custom white oak cabinetry and finely detailed millwork that add warmth and order. Circulation was reimagined as well: a new stair to the basement extends the cohesive language throughout, while the original stair to the second floor is refreshed in sage, offering a subtle nod to the home’s history. The result is a serene, garden-forward interior that feels contemporary yet comfortably rooted in its Riverdale setting.
